Our Staff

Owner/Innkeeper Jason Zube, General Manager/Innkeeper Matthew Spofford with Executive Chef Waneeta Marquis have a passion for hosting and creating memorable experiences. This is evident in all the moments we are blessed to share with our guests - in our communication before arrival, our warm welcome when arriving or our breakfast service just before checking out.  We always look for opportunities to connect and provide an amazing experience for our guests.

The Samuel O’Reilly House has its roots in the artist culture with five-star expectations in service, inspiring those who stay to reconnect with their creative energy.  The Samuel O’Reilly House Owner /Innkeeper Jason Zube is additionally the owner of the Boston Tattoo Company in Medford and Somerville, Massachusetts.

As an undergraduate at Plymouth State,  Jasons interests were very similar as today: wrestling, tattooing, and the life of the party.  In 2012,  Jason approached long time local to North Conway friend Matthew Spofford with an idea for the Bed and Breakfast. The two lived in the same dormitory floor starting as freshman in college where they would spend time escaping sheltered life to North Conway on weekends and vacations.

Several years after college Jason approached Matthew with an idea to buy property in the White Mountains.  His plan was to artistically renovate the property in steam-punk themed decor and suggest Matthew, with his 20+ years of hospitality experience, be the innkeeper. Matthew said yes and Jason promptly began looking at properties in North Conway. Through many tours and purchase tribulations, The Wyatt House Country Inn appeared out of thin air and was listed for sale.

This was the perfect location for the venture! Overlooking the Saco River and White Mountains, Jason and Matthew began envisioning their hospitality future - The Samuel O'Reilly House. This Inn was cleverly named after the inventor of the mid 1880’s tattoo machine as tribute to Zube's revered career as a tattoo artist and owner of the Boston Tattoo Company.

Believing customer experience is paramount, his lifelong dream is to have a place for those who travel to be inspired and share with those around them.  Whether you see us as a retreat for creative process or just enjoying the four season activities North Conway has to offer – we take pride making sure their experience is comfortable, refreshing and unique.
